Mask and your oral health
There are many people who believe that the use of the mask can somehow affect their oral health, but it really should not be so in any case, it is only that now with the excuse of the use of the mask oral care has been relaxed, the mask is not a reason to hide your teeth, think that at some point you will take it off and all eyes will go straight to your mouth. When wearing the mask, part of the air we breathe out is in contact with our sense of smell for a longer time, so now there are people who believe that the continued use of the mask has affected them and they have developed halitosis (bad breath) when in fact they already had it before. That is why it is very important to take care of your oral hygiene, visit the dentist or continue with the planned treatment.
From Clínica Ilzarbe, we want to give you some tips that will take care of your dental health:
- Wash your hands before brushing your teeth and after you finish.
- Change your toothbrush more often and, of course, do not share it under any circumstances.
- Brush your teeth at least 3 times a day.
- Drink water more frequently, the oral mucous membranes are a little more sensitive and should be more hydrated.
- Change masks frequently, prolonging the life of a mask can result in more bacteria and germs accumulating.
- Do not neglect the visit to the dentist, not seeing your teeth is no excuse.
Remember: Wearing a mask protects you protects us all, so be responsible!
